In Qatar, a worker who completes at least one year with an employer is owed an end-of-service gratuity when the job ends. Article 54 of Labour Law No. 14 of 2004 sets the minimum: three weeks' wage for every year of service, on the last basic wage. It's a flat rate. Unlike the UAE, Qatar's law has no higher rate after five years, although many online calculators wrongly add one. This calculator applies the law as written.

How it works
Daily basic wage = last monthly basic wage ÷ 30. Three weeks' wage is 21 days of that.
Gratuity = daily basic wage × 21 × years of service. Part-years count in proportion once the first year is complete, so 6 years and 3 months is 6.25 years.
Only the basic wage counts. Housing, transport and other allowances are excluded, which is why a low basic with high allowances gives a smaller gratuity. If your contract states one figure with no breakdown, that figure is the basic wage.
Resigning doesn't reduce the gratuity once you have a year of service. Dismissal for gross misconduct under Article 61 can forfeit it. An employer can pay more than this minimum by contract or policy, never less.
A worked example
A worker on a basic wage of QAR 10,000 a month has a daily basic wage of QAR 333.33 and earns 21 days, QAR 7,000, for each year. After 6 years of service the minimum gratuity is QAR 42,000, whether they resign or the employer ends the contract.
